OhmConnect – Get Paid for Saving Energy

OhmConnect is a free service that rewards California residents for saving energy. When you sign up, you’ll receive alerts when energy is most expensive. If you save electricity during this time, OhmConnect will reward you with gift cards or even cash via PayPal.

How can OhmConnect pay you to reduce your energy consumption?
OhmConnect bundles the energy savings of all of its users and sells it back to the California Independent System Operator’s (CAISO’s) energy markets. CAISO pays OhmConnect for the energy that wasn’t used. This type of program is called “demand response,” because it represents members responding to heightened demand on the grid. In addition to helping improve grid reliability and rewarding their participants, demand response programs help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It’s a win-win-win!

Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing (SOMAH) Program

The California Public Utility Commission’s Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing (SOMAH) Program directs greenhouse gas auction revenues to California’s most vulnerable and pollution-burdened communities. SOMAH provides financial incentives for installing photovoltaic (PV) energy systems on multifamily affordable housing. These incentives deliver clean energy and energy bill savings to hundreds of thousands of residents who otherwise would not have access to the benefits of solar.

SoCalREN

The Southern California Energy Network (SoCalREN) provides access to energy efficiency programs that impact houses, businesses, and public facilities. These incentives provide energy efficient technology, make the electrification transition more affordable, and encourage customers to take actions that reduce their carbon footprint.
