Residential Rates

Orange County Power Authority (OCPA) is a not-for-profit, locally governed community energy provider. OCPA is committed to providing cleaner, renewable electricity choices at stable rates, and investing in innovative programs that help customers save energy and money. When customers enroll with OCPA, they reduce the carbon footprint associated with their electricity service and help support the growth of local renewable projects. Rather than providing profits to investors, OCPA’s net revenue (after the cost of power and administrative expenses) is used to help stabilize electricity prices, provide incentives for solar installations, and support energy efficiency programs.

For the first time, you can decide who provides your power. To see what an estimate of your bill could look like with different Orange County Power Authority service offerings compared to Southern California Edison please use the Residential Rate Comparison tool below. To get started, make sure to have a copy of your bill handy.

OCPA customers have the same access to rate assistance programs as SCE customers. Rate relief provided through the CARE, FERA, AMP, HEAP or Medical Baseline programs also apply to OCPA customers.

NEM customer accounts are unique in usage, and in systems. Please contact 1-866-262-7693 or email answers@ocpower.org for NEM specific rate information.

With Orange County Power Authority, you have the power to choose the electricity service that’s right for you. Below is a snapshot of how OCPA’s renewable energy content and rates compare today.

  • Rates shown are intended as a simple point-in-time comparison as of May 2026.
  • Renewable energy content shown is for 2026, and all totals exceed California’s Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS).
  • OCPAs generation rates are locked in for 2026, giving customers stable and predictable pricing, while SCE’s rates can change four to six times annually.
  • The Power Charge Indifference Adjustment (PCIA) fee is paid by all customers and is charged by SCE. For OCPA customers, it is itemized on bills in the “Delivery” portion of the bill. Learn more about PCIA in our FAQs.
