Independent Audit Highlights Orange County Power Authority Is Financially Strong and Fiscally Responsible

Customers benefit from Basic Choice generation rate that costs 3% less than Southern California Edison’s equivalent generation rate


IRVINE, Calif. – December 5, 2024 – An independent audit has highlighted Orange County Power Authority’s (OCPA) “strong financial health,” positioning it effectively to serve its customers and fulfil its mission. OCPA’s solid financial performance helps protect customers from unexpected energy cost increases and ensures competitive electricity generation rates.

An audit of OCPA’s financial statements by accounting firm Pisenti and Brinker, LLP, indicates strong accuracy and reliability in OCPA’s financial reporting and no deficiencies or material weaknesses in internal control. This latest audit echoes OCPA’s previous three “clean audit opinions.”

All four of OCPA’s audits have been completed by Pisenti and Brinker, which has extensive experience auditing Community Choice Aggregators and other local government entities in California. In just two years of service, OCPA has also been nationally recognized as one of the cleanest and greenest CCAs in the country, while providing competitive electricity generation rates and investing in innovative programs that benefit residents and businesses.
